Don’t Let Jealously Trip You Up

Jealously is a disease of the mind that can be treated! Stay strong and fight it!

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do.” Abstracted from Nelson Mandela’s famous speech.

People will always be cursed with pangs of jealously. That is a fact of life. A human condition that we can’t fully escape. But if we could take a breath and walk just a few miles in another persons shoes we would perhaps understand them more and judge them less. We must always remember that people who appear outwardly successful (whatever success means to you?) and outwardly cheerful and rather pleased with their lot have no doubt made a choice and took the right actions to get where they are now standing. Of course some people are ‘lucky sods’ and born with all the trappings of success but a huge majority of people choose to work hard at improving the deck of cards they were handed.

If someone is brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous that is their own doing. Well done to them! They have worked hard at improving their natural talents, learning new skills, discovering a lot about who they are and what will make them smile in life. Why be jealous of another’s life? Make your own life interesting and beautiful. Why not use the negative and crippling energy of jealously, grab it by the balls and use it to propel your life into positive energy! If you feel pangs of jealously about something – maybe it is something you desire or would quite like too? Use jealously to give you the answers you seek. Turn jealously on its head!

Remember Nelson Mandela’s speech – no one on this earth has the power to make you feel small. No one has the power to make you dart into the shadows. No one has the power to silence you. Unless, you allow them to. You can curl into a tight ball, you can hide under the duvet cover and never leave your home, you can avoid ever using your voice and expressing your thoughts. But remember, you are meant to shine. Any person who tries to mask you, any person who tries to gag you, ignore you, exclude you, attack you or belittle you – don’t let them have that power over you. It is their personal issue’s and insecurities – don’t let them project  jealously and insecurities towards you. Don’t ever own their issue’s – they are not your problems. You should shine and your real friends will be the ones who bask in your gorgeous warmth and contentment. They will be cheering you on not trying to trip you up!

Don’t ever waste your time on jealously from other people or jealously that stirs in your own heart – the race of life is long and in the end the race is only with yourself.
